An Eye Opening Experience

Our story today of a client who found job before settling in Canada. Although, we take pride in our clients’s success, we know that mostly all that success comes from the professionalism of our clients and their desire to learn. The experience and hard skills are there, our role is to help and guide. We provide the information that our clients need. That one hour with an Intake Counselor is crucial in identifying our clients’s needs and guiding them in getting the right information for their settlement and job search.

My Biggest Concern Before Canada

Would you recommend SOPA? If so, why? I would absolutely recommend SOPA to my colleagues and friends. I am pretty sure that everyone who attends the SOPA program will learn a lot and they will really find the answers to most, if not all, of their questions and concerns. Attending the SOPA program is a definite learning experience.

4 Canadian Job Search Success Stories

Four of our clients Madhavan, Hanzel, Maylyn and Nelson immigrated to Canada and soon after arrival found job in the field related to their work in their home country. After registration with SOPA I received a personal plan of action with plenty of links for newcomers. While studying with SOPA you may plan your own schedule and time and that was important for me. Courses contain theoretical parts and tasks for homework, which were very useful and practical. I learned about the Canadian job market, workplace culture, soft skills, importance of the targeted resume and the cover letter.

The best thing about SOPA is that it offers its courses before arrival. It is, indeed, a great opportunity that newcomers can arrive prepared. It helps smooth their settlement, and fasten their job search by having Canadian resume and other job search tools ready in hand. So they will get no surprises once they arrive and can integrate earlier to the economy and to the area they settle in.

How SOPA Is Preparing Me For Canada

Arrive Prepared and Find Success

In January 2017 a few months before coming to Canada Omotola Owoeye registered with the SOPA (Settlement Online Pre-Arrival) program and successfully completed the Job Search Strategies course. Within a few weeks of arrival Omotola has already had several interviews and by the end of June Omotola had two job offers to choose from.
